When Greyson was born, I really struggled with finding time for me. To be honest, I still do. I don't want to be a helicopter Mom, but Greyson has special needs and again, our time is limited. I don't want to regret not spending every minute that I can with him. That being said, I also need an outlet (besides this blog!) to save my sanity. Between trying to navigate the United States healthcare system, health insurance, waivers, the US government, medical treatments, clinical trials, appointments, work, oh and just LIFE in general.. I need time to just turn my brain off for a minute and just let go.
So - I craft. My middle sister, Stacey, gave me her old Silhouette cutter for Christmas and my husband and his sister got me all the goodies you need to get started. Since then, I started making things- mostly for around the house, a few for friends, but just having fun creating. I really like painting but I have zero skills when it comes to drawing, so this is perfect for me. I can either use the vinyl like a stencil and paint, paint the wood or glass, or just use the vinyl. The first one I did was the Little Man Cave one for Greyson. It's hanging on the outside of his bedroom door right now. The shadow box is filled with our prizes from Zoo Day this past Easter. The "Hello sweet cheeks" is hanging in our guest bathroom :) , and the rest is in our living room or guest bedroom. It's a fun hobby and I'm tossing around the idea of doing more and selling them to help as I work to go part time. I also just really love seeing the end result. If I did sell them- I've been trying to come up with a business name and it would have to include Greyson in there somewhere <3 In all honesty, if you have an idea what you want to see if I can do- let me know!
xoxo,
Kim
