It's all just a punch of hocus pocus

Happy Halloween!!
We decided very last minute to dress Grey up this year and take him to "trick or treat" at our friends house. We really didn't want to take him around our neighborhood, just because everyone here has small porches and it would be hard with his wheelchair to get up and down. Plus he of course can't eat the candy and we really didn't want extra candy in our house :) We also thought about if we handed out candy that the doorbell may startle Grey and having to constantly get up and down might be difficult with him so we said let's just go over to the Brays and see them!
Grandpa and Grandma Rudness bought this for Grey when we went to the zoo back in April this year and we figured it would be the perfect costume for him. So, without further ado meet Mr. Fox!
The bottom left picture is our friend Lauren Bray and her handsome son. It was so nice to see them. We didn't get to stay too long but it was still nice to catch up.
Last week I also recorded a podcast with my friend Erin. Erin started her podcast a little while ago and it's called Dealing With. I mentioned it before but it's a really great podcast where she just shares some of the things she has gone through and the two episodes she has out there already are so great to listen to, It really helps people not feel alone. It was so good to "see" her too on Zoom. Erin and I met working at the YMCA back in Marquette in 2007-2008. We were both lifeguards and she was so fun to work with. I told her after we finished recording- I'm pretty sure I rambled on because I blacked out just talking about our story! There is so much to our story that I want to make sure I share it and share it correctly but my goodness- it would be a long episode for her!
We also have some HUGE news in my family.. my oldest sister Denise who lives in Finland currently and my youngest niece are moving to the US in December! I'm SO INCREDIBLY EXCITED to have them heeeere! They've lived over in Finland for awhile now and it will be so nice to have them in the same town as us.
Greyson is doing ok. We've transitioned to fully tube feeds and it's been hard on me. It just feels like this is the last thing tay-sachs can really steal from him before it takes his life. It's safer for him to have the feeding through the tube and it's the smart thing to do.. we have the tube for this reason but it still hits you right in the gut knowing he is losing his ability to swallow. Honestly, every milestone he has lost has been smack to the face. You get used to the "new normal" and tay-sachs goes nope, guess what! Then comes another new normal. He has also been really tired lately with his seizure meds. We've been spending most of our time snuggling, reading, doing stretches, and just loving on him. He is currently up in his room and you can hear him doing his big yawns downstairs in the living room. His noises are so dang sweet.
We've all been napping a lot lately :)
I've been trying to do more with my crafting. I just started making some keychains and Christmas ornaments. I'm thinking of starting to post things for sale and doing a fundraiser for Grey's fund. Adam found a fun hobby last week too.. he's brewing his own beer!! His first batch is an IPA so I won't be able to tell you if it's good or not- so i'll let him share:) I don't like IPAs at all
I'll be posting another blog this weekend too.. it's Greyson's 2nd birthday on Sunday! We are doing a family party on Saturday and i'll be sure to take lots of pictures. We are doing Two Infinity and Beyond :) I've had a few people ask me what Greyson wants/needs for his birthday so I'll try and update that this week too. We also still have the gofundme available. I can't wait to celebrate his birthday. I can't believe my baby boy is going to be 2. I don't know where the time went!
xoxo,
Kim
